Structure

5-wire touch panel has the same constructin of film and glass as 4-wire / 8-wire touch panel, but only electrode pattern is differenct.

Detection Principle

4-wire and 8-wire touch panel specify input position by detecting each potential gradient of film assigned as X-axis electrode and glass as Y-axis electrode.

5-wire touch panel assigns both X-axis and Y-axis electrode on the glass side, and film side works as a probe that has only function of detecting applied voltage.

High Hitting Durability

With 4-wire and 8-wire touch panel, when fatal damage such as scratch is done to the input area region, input position error occurs due to data distortion affecting surrounding area.

Althought 5-wire touch panel is unable to detect accurate data of position where damage is done, other surrounding area are capable of detecting normal data and will not be affected by the damaged position. 5-wire touch panel is stable for long term use since input detection will no be affected by input friction and scratch on the surface.

Hitting durability of 5-wire touch panel is 35 million times.
