About GUNZE

CSR Activities

Gunze promptly made a corporate-wide decision to prevent environmental pollution by establishing a Public Nuisance Prevention Committee in 1970. In June 1997, alert to growing public concern over environment-related issues, Gunze established an Environmental Charter to demonstrate the company's environmental policy and commitment both internally and externally. Accordingly, Gunze formulated a voluntary environmental action plan that specifies vital environmental issues and activity targets. Based on this plan, Gunze is working on a fully established environmental management system and reduction of the environmental impact of its corporate activities. By promoting these efforts, Gunze is fully dedicated to complying with all environmental laws and regulations, and to promoting disclosure of environmental information including environmental accounting data to strengthen communications with stakeholders. By so doing, Gunze aims to create a recognized, environmentally conscious management system capable of improving its ecological performance.

  • Beginning in fiscal 2005, CO2 emissions targets included transport-related emissions (company vehicles, transportation of parts/products, etc.)
  • New waste emission volume targets were added for fiscal 2005 and beyond.
  • "Volume of waste emitted" in the above table refers to waste disposal that Gunze business sites outsourced to waste disposal companies (including recycled items but not valuables).
