Circular Factory Road (PART 2): New Building Completed

Gunze Group is actively pursuing initiatives to reduce environmental impact through its business activities.

In the field of plastics, we are strengthening our efforts towards resource circulation, such as reducing plastic waste, transitioning to environmentally conscious and recyclable materials, and developing recycling products that transcend business divisions. By 2030, our goal is to transform into a "Circular Maker."

As part of this ongoing endeavor, the "Circular Factory Transformation Plan" aims to convert production facilities into resource-circulating and environmentally conscious models. Recently, a new manufacturing building, which serves as a symbol of this plan, has been constructed within the premises of our key facility located in Moriyama City, Shiga Prefecture. This manufacturing building utilizes abundant renewable energy sources such as groundwater and solar power in Shiga Prefecture to reduce CO2 emissions while achieving high-efficiency production with state-of-the-art equipment. The plan also includes recycling production waste and effectively utilizing it as recycled raw materials, aiming for zero waste discharge outside the factory premises.

On April 12, we held an exclusive preview event for the press at the new building.

We explained the Circular Factory Transformation Plan to journalists and conducted a tour at the new building, which includes a dedicated pathway for external visitors.

Furthermore, on April 18, we held a completion ceremony, with approximately 40 attendees, including business partners, government officials, and construction contractors, to celebrate the completion of the new building and offer prayers for future prosperity. Following the ceremony, guided factory tours were conducted by our employees.

We look forward to welcoming both internal and external visitors to these factory tours in the future, and we are also considering the possibility of remote tours to accommodate those from distant locations.
