Why is polyolefin shrink sleeve important?

Of the plastics produced from petrochemicals, those with density 1 or less g/c㎥ are polyolefin materials *.
Polyolefin has been used a lot from its easiness of recycling.
Since the density is 1 or less g/c㎥, the amount of plastic produced from the same volume of petroleum is the largest, so it is possible to use petroleum effectively which is a depleting resource.

*Polyolefin is a general term of polymer compound such as polyethylene(PP) and polypropylene(PE).

How can we use effectively?

For beverage PET bottles, the different materials for caps, bottles and sleeve are used.
In Japan, sorting has been progressing, but in other countries, the low recycling rate has been regarded as a problem. However, it has not been solved because of the cost and efficiency.
By using polyolefin film, it is possible to use limited resources effectively by collecting the floating film and recycle it.

Why do Gunze develop the polyolefin film?

Gunze is the only company in Japan that develops polyolefin shrink film for sleeves, and it is widely used such as for beverages, home and personal care products.
