Density separation of polyolefin film

Gunze is the only company in Japan that manufacture the polyolefin shrink film (type FL) for sleeves. It is used for many purposes such as beverage bottles, home & personal care products.

The density of polyolefin film is less than 1, and has the highest usage rate among commodity resins. That is why polyolefin is said to be it is easy for recycling.

Today, we would like to have the experiment of "density separation" which use the method of the density of polyolefin film that is less than 1.

By using this density separation method, for example, we can recycle the PET material container after disposal, collection, pulverization and then take out only polyolefin film by density separation.
【Up】 The film with the density of 1 or more (OPS, PET) is sinking.
【Down】 Only the polyolefin film with the checked pattern is floating.

Type FL has the thickness of 50µm, but Gunze is developing thinner polyolefin film.
