Osaka-Gunze Limited (Headquarters: Osaka, Japan, President: Toshiyasu Saguchi) [TOKYO: 3002] is pleased to announce that it has donated four ginkgo trees in response to Osaka City's request to preserve the healthy rows of ginkgo trees on Midosuji Avenue and pass them on to future generations.

In December 2019, the City of Osaka and Gunze signed an "Agreement on the Supply of Ginkgo Trees on Midosuji Avenue" with the aim of preserving the ginkgo trees on Midosuji in good health and passing them on to future generations, in light of the extensive damage to the ginkgo trees on Midosuji caused by Typhoon No. 21 in September 2018. Since the signing of the agreement, 14 ginkgo trees have been donated. This support is in response to a request from the City of Osaka based on this agreement.

(2) Area: Midosuji Avenue, Dotonbori Word West. Between Dotonbori Bridge Minamizume and Namba.
(3) Delivery date: February 10, 2023
(4) Planting period: February 13 and 14, 2023

Midosuji is one of Osaka's most beautiful thoroughfares, and its rows of ginkgo trees were designated a cultural asset by Osaka City in 2000 as a historical landscape symbolizing modern Osaka. The ginkgo trees along Midosuji are a popular tourist attraction and are known for their beautiful golden leaves in the fall.
