Gunze Aims to Create a Sustainable Community Involving the Supply Chain
Gunze green holds green planting workshop

Osaka-Gunze Limited (Headquarters: Osaka, Japan, President: Toshiyasu Saguchi) [TOKYO: 3002] is pleased to announce that Gunze Green, a consolidated subsidiary of Gunze, is holding a planting workshop involving the supply chain to promote sustainable community building. The company holds a workshop with a different theme each time, and this time the participants experienced transplanting and green harvesting, which maintains the beauty of the tree's shape by adjusting new buds, using tall trees "crape myrtle" and "pine" as teaching materials.
Plants are living organisms, and proper care at the time of planting will affect the quality of the plants and their subsequent growth.
Gunze's goal is to promote the smooth transfer of technology by allowing customers to experience this planting technique firsthand. And to create a sustainable community without letting plants die.
Gunze will continue to strive to contribute to society by operating its business in a way that respects and protects biodiversity.

Workshop of winding the crape myrtle root

■What is the green planting workshop?

In order to maintain beautiful landscapes through planting, it is important to plant trees in an appropriate manner according to the type of trees and flowers and the environment of the planting site. This workshop is designed to share Gunze Green's knowledge of trees, plants and flowers and to help landscape designers and contractors learn what types of plants to plant and how to plant them. This course is not a classroom lecture, but a hands-on planting experience.

■From the person in charge of planning the green planting workshop

The environmental greening industry has a relatively clear division of roles, including the cultivation of trees and flowers, their procurement and delivery, design, construction, maintenance, and operation and management of facilities. Therefore, lack of understanding of the front-end and back-end processes can sometimes result in failure to maintain the quality of plants.
The purpose of planning this workshop was to deepen the understanding of the series of tree and flower processes throughout the supply chain through hands-on experience, and to help participants learn to treat plants as a limited resource with care.
Another important goal is to pass on skills from veterans to younger generations.
Through this workshop, Gunze will continue to strive to contribute to society by operating its business in a way that respects and protects biodiversity.
