Osaka-Gunze Limited (Headquarters: Osaka, Japan, President: Atsushi Hirochi) [TOKYO:3002] is pleased to announce that Gunze establishes a Sustainable Committee on January 15, 2021 to enhance the functions of the current CSR Committee. And then the company is speeding up efforts toward the realization of a sustainable society throughout the company especially the realization of carbon neutrality and diversity and inclusion.

Gunze Group has been promoting a basic policy towards a recycling system for plastics and the active investment in strategic QOL-related matters at the CSR Committee. The committee’s name was changed in response to the demand for companies to solve problems for the realization of a sustainable society in the past year and the accelerating trend of companies actively working to solve social issues.
The Sustainability Committee will work as a Gunze Group to respond to requests for solutions to medium-to long-term social issues such as the "Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)" with the goal of 2030 and zero CO2 emissions in 2050. The company has set 5 sustainable important themes as follows.

2. Realization of a resource-recycling society
3. Realization of sustainable procurement
4. Wellness & health
5. Consideration for people and society

Regarding these themes, the company plans to formulate specific measures and numerical targets from 2030 to 2050 and incorporates them as sustainability targets (non-financial targets) in the next medium-term management plan starting in 2022. Sustainability goals are the cornerstone of further promoting sustainable management that balances the sustainable development of society with the sustainable growth of Gunze Group. Gunze Group remains accelerating the sustainable management of the entire group under the Sustainability Committee that strengthens its functions.
